Moscow Rules

So, the traditional recipe for a Moscow Mule is such:
1 1/4 oz vodka
1 tsp simple syrup
1/4 oz lime juice
3 oz ginger beer

Mix ingredients and serve over ice in a copper cup with lime and a sprig of mint
It sounds good, right? Well, it is. The only problem is that most of the bars I go to don't seem to have copper cups on hand, let alone ginger beer. So what to do? Fear not my friends, there is an answer ...

I was at White Trash in Berlin recently and was pleasantly surprised by their version which substituted ginger ale for the ginger beer and added cucumber as the garnish. Maybe we can call it the Lazy Mule?
